Day 02

The next day, we went to Monaco. I had just gone with my family, so I kind of knew the lay of the land. I really enjoyed the train ride there. It was only about an hour and a half, and I thought it was very peaceful. When we got to Monaco, we went straight to the casino. The group I was with had a miscommunication because we genuinely thought we had missed our casino tour and then had free time in Monaco. If I had a clear understanding of the ticket's opening time, I definitely would have stayed at the casino and walked around. Today, I was kind of just walking around and staying open-minded about everything. My peers wanted to go vintage shopping, and the guys and I were standing next to the fans in all of the shops because it was just so hot. I wish I had strolled by myself and gone on a fun walk. I feel like Monte Carlo has hidden gardens and fun paths that I didn’t get to discover. After shopping and walking around the casino, we ended up having lunch near a restaurant I had just been to. The restaurant had beautiful views, not super hot areas, and delicious food. I had gotten a fish no one else had, but I think four of the six felt ill after the meal. I thought my fish was one of the best dishes I've ever had. Soon after that, people started throwing up and running to the restroom. Not my ideal day in Monaco. I was still fine, but I was concerned for my friends. We had reached out to Meryl to see if we could possibly go back early. With her approval, we did, but took an overly expensive taxi instead of using our free train tickets. Ugh. When we got back to Cannes, I finally had a much-needed stroll by myself. I saw Mike White’s new season of White Lotus being filmed, and people calmly watched along the Croisette. After that, I met up with Carson and Ella for an early dinner. Later, a larger group joined us for dessert on Carson's birthday, of course!
