Day 01

On the first official day, we started with a walking tour in Cannes. I have already been to Cannes before, but I had not seen this side of town. The walk was very nice, but it felt like there were around 10,000 steps. This was made worse by the heat wave at the time.  After the walking tour, we went to an Italian restaurant for lunch. The restaurant had chill vibes. It was a great opportunity to bond with the group and get to know some of the people that I had not connected with yet. After lunch, we walked down to the old port and got on the ferry for the boat tour. I really liked the boat tour because we got to see the South of France closer to St. Tropez, rather than the Nice and Antibes area. What stood out was the architecture on that side of the coast, especially the villas and estates that blended into the landscape. I really enjoyed the catamaran, but I wish it had only been our group on the boat. I liked meeting the people on the boat, but at times it felt too crowded and less intimate. I am also a pretty insecure person, so being in a swimsuit on the first day really made me feel awful. After the boat tour, we went back to the hotel and got ready for dinner. We went to a fun outdoor restaurant that my parents recommended, and it was so cute! They had sparklers, good food, and fun vibes!
